About The CBORD User Advisory Council

The CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC) serves as an effective communications link between CBORD and its clients to focus and facilitate user interests.  The council is composed of representatives from eight Common Interest Groups:

  • College & University Gold Systems
  • College & University Foodservice Management Systems
  • College & University Odyssey Privilege Control Systems
  • Corporate & Commercial Foodservice Management Systems
  • Corporate & Healthcare Privilege Control Systems
  • Healthcare Clinical Systems
  • Healthcare Foodservice Management Systems
  • Housing Management Systems

Each Common Interest Group has a primary representative and an alternate representative elected for three-year terms.  The alternate serves as a backup if the primary cannot attend a meeting.  To qualify for candidacy in the UAC, an individual must be an active user of CBORD products in the designated category, attend the User Group Conference, and be willing to participate in meetings, and deliberations.  In addition, the UAC elects a User Group Chair from its members who have served one full term.  User Advisory Council meetings are held twice a year: in the spring and at the annual conference.

Activities and responsibilities of the Council include:

  • Sending pre-conference emails to clients within their Common Interest Groups
  • Planning & helping to execute the User Group Conference with CBORD staff
  • Serving as a “sounding board” or a “channel” to CBORD for problems that may arise
  • Networking with other clients

Council members may also be asked to speak to potential clients on CBORD’s behalf.  Each primary council member contributes two articles for publication in the CBORD market-based newsletters, while alternate council members contribute one article for publication in the CBORD market-based newsletters per year.
