Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group announces the release of the Foodservice Suite version 1.4 for Windows®-based systems. CBORD, an Ithaca, NY-based software company, has provided management tools for the foodservice industry for over 25 years. The release of version 1.4 will bring an important new dimension of functionality to CBORD system users worldwide.

New in version 1.4 is the "Order Generator", a feature that creates purchase orders automatically, based on current inventory, upcoming menus, and forecasted usage. Also new is an enhancement to CBORD's purchasing functionality, now expanded to include a wide variety of price file formats, including EDI format 855.

The Foodservice Suite version 1.4 offers more menu analysis reporting capabilities, greater customization of recipes, ingredient substitution, and detailed management of purchasing not only by facility, but at every inventory center. Standard features for the product line include order placement by EDI, fax, or telephone; nutritional analysis of recipes; on-screen menu planning; and menu forecasting. All modules are fully integrated through a relational database design.
