CBORD announces Webfood.com, an online ordering system created with your convenience in mind.
For Immediate Release
August 17, 2004
Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, a leading supplier and marketer of innovative vertical
market software and hardware systems, today announced the introduction of Webfood.com, an
online ordering system for food purchases from area restaurants. Anyone with access to the internet
can now call up the menus of numerous Ithaca restaurants, choose the items they want to buy, and
select the time they would like to either pick up their food or have it delivered (each eatery
determines which services to offer). Payment can be made by credit card or by cash.
“Using Webfood is even easier than picking up the phone,” says Bruce Lane, executive vice president
and chief operating officer of CBORD. “You don’t have to find a phone book; you don’t need to
know the numbers of the restaurants; you can order food while you’re checking your email. And your
order is ready when you decide you want it.”
“This service also speeds up the process if you’re not sure what you want to eat,” says Lou Licari, a co-founder of Webfood, Inc. and now Webfood account manager for CBORD. “You can look at the menus and think, ‘Mediterranean? Pizza?’ – all the choices are right there.” Licari adds that Webfood.com is also great for groups. “If you’re having a crew over for a Monday Night Football game or you’re hosting a meeting at your company, you can type in www.webfood.com, decide what you want to serve and when, and that’s it.”
Ithaca restaurants participating in Webfood.com include: Chili’s, King Submarine, Domino’s Pizza, Papa Johns Pizza, Rulloff’s Restaurant, Aladdin’s Natural Eatery, Shortstop Deli, Subway at East Hill Plaza and Collegetown, and Wok Village.
